The Lab Analyst/Chemist plays a crucial role in the laboratory’s analytical operations, tasked with performing precise chemical analyses on various samples, including nickel matte and raw materials, utilizing advanced analytical techniques. This position emphasizes ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results by meticulously applying established methods and adhering to laboratory standards.
Key responsibilities involve conducting detailed analytical tests using equipment such as XRF, ICP, AAS, and CS Analyzer, following rigorous procedures for sample preparation, analysis, and documentation. A deep understanding of chemical analysis techniques and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and precision are essential. The role also includes participating in the calibration and maintenance of analytical equipment, contributing to quality assurance processes, and supporting the development and validation of new testing methods, while strictly adhering to safety protocols and environmental compliance.

The ideal candidate will possess the following
- In-depth understanding of analytical techniques and laboratory equipment maintenance.
- Expertise in operating, maintaining, and calibrating high-end laboratory instruments (e.g., HPLC, GC, GC-MS, FTIR, XRF, ICP-MS).
- Data-driven skills, including proficiency in LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems).
- Knowledgeable in implementing and maintaining quality control procedures and ensuring compliance with ISO standards, namely ISO 17025, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.
- Ability to analyse complex data sets, troubleshoot experimental issues, and drive process optimization.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with staff, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Experience as a Laboratory Analyst/Chemist is desirable, though fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
